Senior Bookkeeper

Cloud5 Accounting is looking for a Senior Bookkeeper to provide virtual accounting and bookkeeping services to small-business clients. This is a 100% remote position for candidates located in Utah, with flexible scheduling and a minimum commitment of 25 hours per week. Candidates interested in working up to 40 hours per week are welcome. You will manage the day-to-day accounting needs of approximately 15–30 small-business clients, primarily using QuickBooks Online. You will take ownership of client accounts, maintain accurate financial records, prepare financial reports, communicate with clients, and serve as a trusted accounting resource.

Training & Support Even in a senior role, you will receive training on our processes, technology, and expectations. We maintain a collaborative remote environment where team members regularly share questions, solutions, and knowledge through Google Chat and our internal knowledge base.

Schedule This position offers 25–40 hours per week with flexible scheduling. Most client work and team communication takes place between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM in your local time zone.

Requirements What We're Looking For 4–5 years of professional accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably with an outsourced accounting, bookkeeping, or client accounting firm Advanced experience with QuickBooks Online Strong understanding of account reconciliations, month-end accounting, and financial reporting Experience working directly with small-business clients Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate, timely work Ability to take ownership of client accounts, manage deadlines, and work independently A proactive, problem-solving mindset with an interest in improving accounting processes and efficiency Ability to adapt to an evolving, growing organization Experience leading or mentoring junior accounting staff is preferred Remote Work Requirements Must be physically located in Utah Reliable high-speed internet and a dependable computer A quiet, professional, and private workspace Ability to work primarily during 9:00 AM–5:00 PM in your local time zone, with flexibility around those hours Ability to work independently and consistently meet deadlines
