Job Description
The Bookstore OperationsAssistant supports the daily operations of the MassBay Community CollegeBookstore by providing excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff,and visitors.
Main Bookstore Tasks:
Support daily operations ofthe bookstore
Provide front-line customerservice to students, faculty and staff, ensure high levels of customersatisfaction
Receive, unpack, and stocktextbooks, receive shipments in the system
Assist students with orderingtextbooks, acessing digitial bookshelf, redeeming access codes
Coordinate textbookdistribution, returns and exchanges
Support faculty with textbookadoption processes, deadlines, and platform navigation to ensure accuratelistings each semester
Liaison with online bookdistributor and publishers as needed to troubleshoot orders and acess codes
Address, resolve or escalatestudent, faculty, and staff concerns
Maintain bookstore order andorganization
Perform basic administrativetasks
Work independently andcollaboratively in a fast-paced higher education environment
Qualifications:
Strong communication andinterpersonal skills
Ability to lift and move boxesup to 30-40 pounds
Proficiency with MicrosoftOffice and basic computer applications
Ability to work flexible hoursduring semester start-up and peak periods
